A Pergola Gate Can Add Privacy And Security To Your Property
See more in Gardening Methods
Though many pergolas are built to be open-air structures, there are occasions when you might want one to be a bit more secure and private. By building a pergola gate, you can manage both concerns. You can either place a gate on an existing pergola, or you can put a pergola above your gate to highlight your entrance and add some protection from the weather. Some gates are so superbly created that they entice the eye and bring a lot of attractiveness to your property. For those who have an area which should be closed off for any reason, a pergola gate could be the answer you are looking for.
There are plenty of instances when people might opt for using a deck which can be closed off. For instance, when you have small children who enjoy playing on the deck, having a gate would be a perfect way of keeping the children within the specific area. Of course, on a deck the gate does not always have to be attached to a pergola, but occupying all or a part of your deck with a pergola may make it a very useful space. The pergola will provide shade and keep off some rain while the gate will close the place off to any person but your own family. In effect, it’s like creating a small room on the rear of your home.
Those who construct hot tubs with a pergola often stress about neighborhood children or pets getting into them. By building a gate, you will be able to keep unwelcome visitors out and have a safe tub area. The same could be true if you have an outside kitchen built under a pergola. Enclosing the structure with half walls or slatted barriers may help, but with a gate you can secure the whole place and even padlock it if you would like.
Nearly all pergola designs you can buy don’t consist of gate materials. That is because most of them are in a style that leaves some or all of the sides open. This is great if you want to utilize the structure for any chat area or perhaps a place to go and unwind, but if you use it for a functional space, for example for your hot tub or outside kitchen, you can still add walls along with a pergola gate on your own.
