Gardening Tools Every Gardener Wishes He Had

As you learn more and more about gardening you are also going to be learning more and more about all of the gardening tools out there that are designed to help you create a better garden as well as save you lots of time. Of course, you don’t need to purchase every tool that is on the market. Start small with a collection of basic tools and then let yourself work your way up to the bigger and more impressive tools that are being sold. The fact is that most gardening can be done with pure human strength. All you really need is your hands and arms if you want to move dirt and plants from point A to point B. Working with only your hands and arms is great but it can do a lot of harm to your body after a while so you should use tools instead to ease the strain on your limbs. Here are a few gardening tools that you might find useful.
If you are going to be creating a very large garden, you will need to till the soil. This means loosening up your packed soil so that air can flow through it properly. Some gardeners will hire a professional to help them get this job done. Some gardeners prefer to do the work themselves so they rent a roto tiller. If you are going to be regularly working with large areas of land, buying your own tiller can be useful. Just make sure that you have a thorough working knowledge of how to use that tiller before you turn it loose in your garden. If you don’t know what you are doing you could really make a mess!
Every gardener needs hoes. Many people think that using a garden hoe is a big pain. Using a hoe often feels very unnecessary when you are starting your first garden. If you have a large garden, however, you will need to hoe your garden on a regular basis. Hoes are used to create rows in your garden. This is a lot easier to do from a standing position than a squatting or kneeling position. Another major use of the hoe is for row outlining at planting time. This is the main reason you want a hoe with a long handle.
It sounds preposterous but using your hoe will save you lots of time while you are putting your garden together. Keep all these equipment in wooden garden storage.
Every gardener should have a wovel. A wovel can either have a short handle or a long handle. A wovel is, basically, a shovel whose point is rounded. Most gardeners opt for the wovel with the short handle because it aids in their balance while wovels with long handles do not.
The wovel’s main purpose is to dig holes. If you want to lift a plant without worrying about getting the root system tangled or doing damage to the plant’s root bulb, use a wovel (they can also be used for moving dirt). Gardeners also use wovels to pat the earth down when they move their seedlings from place to place or work at planting seeds. Gardening is something that most people dream of doing at least once or twice during their lives. When you plant your first garden you will probably want to buy all of the different gardening tools at the local nursery. It will all seem useful. The best thing to do is to start out with a few tools that will be useful no matter what your garden’s size will be. After your first tool purchase you can buy the tools you need as you need them. This is the best way to get the tools you need for your garden without depleting your bank account.
